On a hill in the heart of la vallée du Doux, Boucieu le Roi was founded following the orders of the king of France Philippe le Bel in the 13th century... The center of the town is full with beautiful huge stone houses . You can walk to: la Maison du Bailli and its watchtower,the Saint-Jean l'Evangéliste church and the bridge over le Doux... Do not miss to visit the old castle which became la Maison Pierre Vigne that houses le musée Pierre Vigne in tribute to the missionary priest who left his imprints in the village...
